I signed on to Sleep Out on behalf of young people overcoming homelessness at Covenant House.

I am giving up my bed for the night as a way to raise funds and awareness for the nearly 4.2 million young people who experience homelessness each year. I plan to sleep at 5645 S. Flores Street San Antonio, Texas 78214 beginning at 8:00pm to 5am on November 18th, 2021 as an act of solidarity with the resilient young people who face and have overcome homelessness. Sleepout is not a night of pretending, and it's not a slumber party.

As part of my Sleep Out, I get to hear from front-line staff at Covenant House who work 24/7 throughout the pandemic and beyond to keep young people safe, healthy, and sheltered, as well as from alumni who have overcome homelessness. As many of you know It's Already Done Ministries LLC, is glad to be participating, for the 1st time, in the national sleep out.

We are a "Ministry without walls" looking to help support, encourage, educate, & train foster care children/young adults who have aged out of the program.

Participating in this event is a blessing because just walking around San Antonio & other cities, we see a very large number of displaced individuals & there's no telling how many of them are children.

After reaching the age of 18, 20% of the children who were in foster care will become instantly homeless. Only 1 out of every 2 foster kids who age out of the system will have some form of gainful employment by the age of 24.

Please join us on our quest to help raise money to support the facilities that help house our Homeless youth.

It’s dear to me and behind much of what I do hear now locally with helping youth on the street here in San Antonio. It helps others to understand why young people become homeless, the challenges, they face, and what we can do to ensure that everyone deserves a safe place to sleep. Covenant House's mission is to ensure that all youth has a safe place to turn where they feel loved and respected. And they need our help to meet the urgent challenges they're facing, helping young people get back on their feet as we come out of the pandemic. If you can, please consider making a donation of any size in honor of the incredibly resilient young people at Covenant House.
